This is Joanne. I was reading something by Stephen & Alex Kendrick this week, and I was struck by some of the thoughts these two had written about kindness. I’d like to share some of these thoughts with you, perhaps you’ll be inspired as well. Kindness is a quality I would like to develop more in my own life.
… Kindness maximizes a positive circumstance.
… Kindness creates a blessing.
… Kindness is proactive.
… Kindness makes you likeable.

The Bible says:
“Do not allow kindness and truth to leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good repute in the sight of God and man”. Proverbs. 3: 3&4

I believe there are four ingredients to kindness…
1. Gentleness. Never be unnecessarily harsh. Be sensitive and tender, even if you have to say hard things, make your challenge or rebuke as easy to hear as possible.
2. Helpfulness. Making sure another person’s needs are met, even if you have to put your own needs on hold.
3. Willingness. Be agreeable and cooperative. Stay flexible. Compromise and accommodate. Be willing to listen first rather than demand your own way.
4. Initiative. Think ahead. Than take the first step. Greet first, smile first, serve and forgive first. Reread the Good Samaritan in Luke Chapter 10. This is a great example of kindness!
